Bangladesh Premier League, 2017-18 (Preview)

Bangladesh Premier League commonly known as BPL is a great level professional Twenty20 cricket league for Bangladesh. BPL 5 is starting on November 4, 2017. This is going to be the fifth season of BPL structured by Bangladesh Cricket Board. They also feature different teams from different cities. Seven cities are participating in the competition. The season will last for more than a month that is from 4th November to 12th December.

The first game will be played between Dhaka Dynamites and Sylhet Sixers at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Sylhet Sixers is the new team in the league whereas Barisal Bulls are not playing the league for some payment issues.

Here are the seven teams that are going to participate in the competition. 

• Dhaka Dynamites: Many international, as well as local players of Bangladesh are participating in the league so as to strengthen Dhaka Dynamites.
• Comilla Victorians: Comilla Victorians is also filled with the group of talented international players such as Shoaib Malik, Marlon Samuels, Jos Buttler, Hasan Ali, Fahim Ashraf and many more talented players.
• Chittagong Vikings: Although the team is occupied with much-talented players these players are not expert in T20 matches. The players like Soumya Sarkar, Sunzamul Islam, Subashis Roy, Irfan Sukkar are in the team that played well for Bangladesh.
• Khulna Titans: The T20 experts are in the Khulna Titan squads. T20 players are in the squad so we are looking for some good scores from the team.
• Rajshahi kings: The team is last year runner-up and is up with great zeal for the victory this year. Some important players of Bangladesh are in the team such as Rony Talukdar, Zakir Hasan, and Farhad Reza.
• Rangpur Riders: The team is under the captaincy of Bangladesh Captain of One-day Internationals. Mashrafe Mortaza is all set to get the victory this year along with the team of domestic players.
• Sylhet Sixers:The team is new to the league and will be led by Upal Tharanga of Sri Lanka. Players like Dasun Shanaka, Usman Khan, Andrew Fletcher are in the team.

Schedule of the league matches along with their venue

1st match is going to take place between Sylhet Sixers and Dhaka Dynamites at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet on November 4, 2017, at 1:30 PM.

2nd match is on the same day between the teams Rajshahi Kings and Rangpur Riders at the same venue at 6:30 PM.

3rd to 8th match is going to held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. The timings for the matches are 1:30 PM and 6:30 PM as two matches are going to take place in a day. The dates for the matches are 5th, 7th and 8th of November, 2017 with two matches each day.

9th till 24th match’s venue will be same that is Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The timings for the matches are going to be same for all the consecutive matches that are one match at 1:30 PM and second at 6:30 PM. The matches will be played on November 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 20th and 21st with two matches each day.

25th to 34th match is going to be played at the same venue that is Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong. The dates for the matches to be played are 24th, 25th, 27th, 28th, and 29th of November, 2017 with two matches to be played in a day at 1:30 PM and 6:30 PM consecutively.

35th to 42nd match has the venue as Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The dates for the matches are 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th of December, 2017. The timings for the matches to start are 1:30 PM and 6:30 PM as two matches are going to be played in a day.

The match for elimination is then going to be played between TBC and TBC at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka at 2:00 PM on December 8, 2017. The Qualifier 1 match is also going to take place on the same day and same venue at 6:45 PM.

The next Qualifier 2 match is between the teams TBC and TBC on December 10, 2017, at 6:30 PM at same venue i.e. Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.

On December 12, 2017, the final match will take place at 6:30 PM between the qualifying TBC teams at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.
