England vs India 2018: Top 3 Bowlers to watch out for in the five-match Test series

Three bowlers to watch out for in England – India Test series

England are ready to take India in the most anticipated Test series of the summer, which will begin from August 1 in Birmingham. The five-match series over the course of 45 days will be an intense battle between both teams to register supremacy over their rivals.

But before the first ball bowled, we will look in detail the three bowlers to watch out for in the series from both teams.

James Anderson

First in the list features England veteran fast-bowler, James Anderson. The 36-year-old is coming off from a lengthy injury-layoff and will be fresh enough to survive grilling five-Test series against a tough opponent. Anderson is England’s leading wicket-taker of all time with 540 scalps in 138 matches at an average of 27.23 and strike-rate of 56.2. In the last 10 innings in the five-day format, Anderson has claimed 22 wickets with the best of four for 76 against New Zealand in Christchurch.

Ishant Sharma

Second, in the list features India veteran pacer, Ishant Sharma. The 29-year-old is the Men in Blue’s mainstay in the bowling department in the five-day format for a number of years. In 82 matches for India in the longest format of the game, Sharma has managed to claim 238 wickets at an average of 35.52 and strike-rate of 65.8. In last 10 innings in Test cricket, Sharma has managed to claim 20 scalps with the best figures of 3-37, which came against Sri Lanka in Nagpur.

Kuldeep Yadav

Last in the list features India’s chinaman, Kuldeep Yadav. The left-arm has been selected in the squad on the back of impressive performances in the shorter formats for Team India, and therefore it will be interesting to see how he will replicate those performances in the longest format of the game. In his short career of two matches in the five-day format, Yadav has claimed nine wickets at an average of 20.77 and strike-rate of 38.6.
