Pakistan tour to Australia 2019 [Preview]

Pakistan is scheduled to tour Australia in the month of November to play three T20s and Two-match Test series. Australia have announced their T20I squad for the upcoming three-match series that will be begin from 3rd November. The home side will announce their Test squad after the culmination of three-match T20I series.

On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Azhar Ali as the new captain of the Test side. Babar Azam has been named as new T20 captain and will lead Pakistan in the upcoming three-match T20I series. The selection committee is set to announce the T20I and Test squads for tour to Australia.

The visitors will start their campaign with a T20 practice game against Cricket Australia XI at Bankstown Oval in Sydney. The opening game of the T20I series will be played on 3rd November at Sydney Cricket Ground.

Pakistan will then play their second T20I against Australia at Manuka Oval in Canberra on 5th November. The third and final T20I game of the series between Australia and Pakistan will be played at Perth Stadium on 8th November.

Opening batsman Aaron Finch will lead Australia for the upcoming three-match T20I series. The experienced players like David Warner, Steven Smith, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc make their comeback into the T20 squad. Ben McDermott and Ashton Turner are promising players included in the squad for this home series.

In the batting department, the side will be looking towards the likes of David Warner, Aaron Finch and Steven Smith to produce the bulk of the runs in this T20I series. Warner and Smith have made limited appearances for the side in the format since January 2017.

Aaron Finch has been a bankable performer for the side in the T20 format. Since past two years, Finch has scored 539 runs at an average of 35.93 with a strike rate of 174.43. He will be looking to deliver consistently good scores for the side in this upcoming T20I series.

Besides Finch, All-rounder Glenn Maxwell has shown exceptional form for Australia in the format and will be keen to continue his form in this T20I series. In 59 T20 matches played for Australia, Maxwell scored 1514 runs at an average of 34.40 with a strike rate of 158.20. He has scored three centuries and six half-centuries in the T20 format.

Mitchell Starc makes a comeback into the T20 squad for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan. Left-arm quick has produced decent numbers for Australia in the 20-over format.

In 23 T20I matches, Starc claimed 31 wickets at an average of 19.09 with a splendid economy rate of 6.06.  The 29-year old will be looking to make an impact with the ball in this series. He is certainly the best bowler for the side at back end of the innings.

Since last two years, the pace trio of Billy Stanlake, Kane Richardson and Andrew Tye have done exceedingly well for the side in the T20 format.

Left-arm orthodox spinner Ashton Agar and Leg-spinner Adam Zampa will be two front line spinners for Australia for this T20I series.

The culmination of the T20I series will see Pakistan take on Australia in a two-match Test series. The opening game of the Test series will be played at The Gabba in Brisbane on 21st November. The second and final game of the Test series between Pakistan and Australia will be played at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on 29th November.
