Sri Lanka tour to Australia 2019 [Preview]
Sri Lanka is scheduled to tour Australia in the month of October to play three-match T20Is. The visitors managed to surprise many with their clinical performances in the three-match T20I series played in Pakistan.
The likes of Kusal Perera, Niroshan Dickwella and Lasith Malinga will be included in the T20I squad for Australia. The experienced trio will be expected make their way into the setup after missing the previous trip to Pakistan due to personal reasons.
Captain Dasun Shanaka might be retained as the captain of the side after Sri Lanka inflicted 3-0 whitewash over Pakistan. All-rounder performed well in the three-match series against Pakistan and was responsible of producing quick runs in the later stages of the innings.
In the batting department, the side will be relying on the likes of Avishka Fernando, Kusal Perera and Danushka Gunathilaka to deliver the bulk of the runs.
Debutant Bhanuka Rajapaksa was the standout performer for Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan. He accumulated 112 runs in 3 innings at an average of 37.33 with a strike rate of 143.59.
Besides Rajapaksa, Danushka Gunathilaka, Dasun Shanaka and Oshada Fernando also contributed well to the team’s cause in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan.
