Host India will be looking to continue their winning momentum in home conditions when they take on England in the four-match series, which will begin from 5th February in Chennai. It is being dubbed as most anticipated Test series of the year as both the teams are coming into this contest on the back of some excellent form.

Ravichandran Ashwin
India’s premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will be looking to produce his best in this four-match Test series.
Ashwin has fully recovered from injury sustained during Sydney Test and will be looking to prepare well for the grueling four-match Test series against England.
Ravichandran Ashwin is the most experienced bowler for India for this home series with 74 Test matches to his name. He is currently has 377 wickets at an average of 25.53 with 27 five-fors and 7 ten-fors his name.
In Test matches played in India, Ravichandran Ashwin is certainly India’s biggest match winter with the ball in hand. In 44 Test matches played at home, Ashwin has claimed 255 scalps at an average of 22.86 with 21 five-fors to his name.
With Ravindra Jadeja ruled out of this series, the bulk of the responsibility will be on the shoulders of Ravi Ashwin to make crucial breakthroughs for India.
Ishant Sharma
India’s most experienced missed the tour of India due to injury sustained in the Indian Premier League. The 31-year old has been India’s mainstay in the pace department for the five-day format for a number of years.
In 97 Test matches played for India, Sharma has managed to claim 297 wickets at an average of 32.39 and strike-rate of 61.1. In 29 Tests played at home, Sharma has claimed 65 wickets at an average of 33.56. He will be looking to do well in this four-match Test series and provide early breakthroughs with the new-ball.
He is just three wickets of becoming of sixth Indian bowler to take 300 wickets in Test cricket.
Jasprit Bumrah
There is no doubt that Jasprit Bumrah is India’s premier pacer in all three formats. After his splendid performances for India in the four-match Test series played in Australia, Jasprit Bumrah will be looking to make an impact in this home series against England.
Surprisingly, Jasprit Bumrah has yet to play a Test match at home. In 18 Tests played for India, Jasprit Bumrah has claimed 80 wickets at an average of 21.67 with a strike rate of 48.2.
It will be interesting how pacer performs in the typical subcontinent pitches. India will be hoping that Bumrah can bring his reverse swing skills to the fore in this four-match Test series.
With Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav ruled out of the series, Jasprit Bumrah will be looking to lead the pace department and pick crucial wickets for India in this series.
